How to Study and Register for a Part 107 License

How to Register for the FAA Part 107 Exam

  1. Create an IACRA Account
Register for an account on the FAA’s IACRA website:
    https://iacra.faa.gov/IACRA/Default.aspx

Once you create your account, you’ll receive an FTN (FAA Tracking Number). You will use this later when you apply for your Remote Pilot Certificate after passing the exam.
IACRA is the FAA’s official system for managing aviation certifications, including the Part 107 license.

2.   Schedule Your Exam
When you’re ready to take the test, schedule it through PSI’s FAA testing website:
https://faa.psiexams.com/faa/login

There are usually one or two approved testing locations nearby. Availability can sometimes be limited, so check ahead before you are ready to schedule your exam.

3.   After the Exam
Once you pass, log back into your IACRA account (the first link above) and complete Form 8710-13.
This form is sent to the FAA for review to verify your passing score and process your certification.

You’ll receive a temporary Remote Pilot Certificate online, which you can download and use right away. The permanent license card usually arrives in the mail within about a month. Always carry your card on you when flying whether it be your temporary or permanent certificate. Happy flying!
